Following the humiliation in Astana Scotland were away to San Marino, who ranked 211th were the worst country in the World.  Robertson was fit to play in this match, and Paterson and Fraser were also up for selection.  McLeish made six changes to the starting lineup, playing Callum Paterson up front.  Scotland started lively and after 3 minutes Kenny McLean volleyed a Fraser cross just over the bar.  A minute later the same  pair linked up, when a short corner was played to Fraser, who hit a cross into the box and McLean superbly headed a low ball into the bottom corner, to give Scotland an early lead.  After 20 minutes Armstrong should have made it 2, when he had a close shot parried by the keeper, and then the rebound shot by Armstrong was also saved.  On the half hour mark, Scotland were given a fright when San Marino were through on goal, but hit the side netting.  A minute later Paterson had a header saved, but in the process he landed badly and had to be taken off.  Scotland made a poor start to the second half and struggled to find any rhythm.  With just over 15 minutes remaining, Scotland doubled their lead and put the game to rest.  A great ball was played to Forrest on the wing.  His low ball into the middle was dummied by McNulty, and Johhny Russell took it past the keeper before hitting it high into the net.  Two minutes later McNulty squandered a great chance for a third, when he headed a Forrest cross wide of the post, when it seemed easier to score.  With just over 5 minutes left, Robertson played a great ball through to McNulty, who had his shot saved by the keeper.  At the final whistle the players went off to boos from the Scotland fans, after another poor performance.  McLeish's head was definately on the line now.
