After the win over the Republic, Scotland were hoping a similar result against the Auld Enemy.  After five minutes a low shot by Welbeck was saved by Marshall.  On the half hour mark, England took the lead when Wilshire played a great ball into the penalty area, where Oxlade-Chamberlain crept in unmarked, to direct a header past Marshall.  Just into the second half, England doubled their lead, when some poor defending led to a loose ball being headed past Marshall by Rooney.  Five minutes later, Russell Martin forced a save from Fraser Forster, when he latched on to a free kick from Mulgrew and had his header tipped over.  With 13 minutes remaining, Wilshire should have made it three, but he shot wide of the post.  With seven minutes remaining, Scotland's best player Andrew Robertson made a great run down the left, played a one-two with Johnny Russell, before hitting a low shot past Forster to make it 1-2.  Scotland's hopes of getting something out of the game were short lived, when two minutes later Rooney got his second.  A great passing move by England was finished with Lallana cutting back to Rooney who shot into an empty net to make it 3-1 to England, after a poor performance from an obviously tired Scotland team following the win over Ireland.
