For the final group games, John McGinn was back in the squad, as was Stuart Armstrong and Jack Hendry. Two wins could still see Scotland finish 2nd in the group and qualify for the knock out stages.

Croatia almost took the lead after nine minutes when Kramaric sent Gordon the wrong way, but an outstretched leg knocked the shot past the post. Nine minutes later Scotland broke away and Doak cut back for McTominay, but his shot was saved. Ten minutes before half time, Gordon saved a powerful shot from Luka Sucic, and then when Modric put the ball back in the box, Gordon saved again. A couple of minutes before half time Petar Sucic received a second booking for a foul on Souttar, and was therefore sent-off. In the second half, Scotland had most of the possession, but failed to carve out chances. With just over 20 minutes remaining, Ryan Gauld crossed to the back post for Doak, but he could not get his shot on target. Doak then made it to the byline and cut back to am unmarked Gilmour, but he skied his shot over the bar. A few minutes later, Scotland were let off when Pasalic was through on Gordon, but put his shot wide. With four minutes remaining, Doak, beat Gvardiol down the right, before his shot was palmed away by the keeper. Substitute McGinn then met the loose ball and his shot was deflected into the net to give Scotland a late 1-0 victory, and end Scotland's 10 game winless competitive run. It also put Scotland level with Poland and only three behind Croatia.
