After the defeat in Moscow, Scotland had nothing but pride to play for as Belgium and Russia had secured the top two places and qualified for Euro 2020. Both McTominay and Shankland should have given Scotland the lead, before Scotland took the lead after 12 minutes. Ryan Christie came in from the right and hit a low shot into the bottom left hand corner. It took a slight deflection off McGinn, so he was credited with the goal. Just before the half hour mark McGinn got his second. A low ball in by McTominay was palmed away by the keeper to McGinn, whose shot was deflected into the net. On the verge of half time, McGinn got his hat-trick. A corner by Christie was headed by Findlay to the feet of McGinn, who turned and shot past the keeper, making it 3-0. In the second half, the heavy rain continued, making the conditions very difficult to play in. Thankfully for McGinn, the referee allowed the game to continue. Just before the hour mark, a deflected cross from Robertson had to be palmed over the bar. Five minutes later, McTominay hit the bar from outside the box, and the rebound fell to Shankland in the box, who tapped it into the net. Two minutes later Christie put a corner into the box, to be met by the head of Findlay to get Scotland's fifth. With four minutes remaining, Scotland won a free-kick on the edge of the box. Substitute Stuart Armstrong whipped a great ball over the wall and into the net to make it 6-0.
