Scotland 1-1 Macedonia

Scotland went into this qualifier knowing that anything less than a victory would seriously damage their chances of qualifying for the World Cup.  Things did not start well as Macedonia took the lead after only ten minutes. Trickovski played a one-two with Demiri, before he played a low ball across the goal for Noveski to knock past McGregor, although he looked offside.  Five minutes later, Ibraimi came close to making it 2-0 when his shot curled just past the post.  On the half hour mark, Ibraimi had a low shot saved by McGregor.  Just before half time, Scotland equalised against the run of play.  Morrison played a through ball to Mackie who was clear on goal, he passed to his left to Kenny Miller who slotted the ball into an empty net.  In the second half, Georgievski had a shot blocked by Berra.  From the resulting corner, McGregor palmed away a shot by Ibraimi that fell to Hasani whose shot struck the right hand post.  With just over 20 minutes remaining Adam crossed the ball in for substitute Jordan Rhodes to head just past the post.  A few minutes later Ivanovski was through on goal but his shot was saved by McGregor.  Just before the end, James Forrest played a great ball to the back post, but a defender stuck a leg out to clear it before Rhodes made contact with it.  The game ended 1-1 in what was a poor display from Scotland, who were even lucky to get a point.
