After 16 minutes Hazard made a great run through the defence before laying it off to De Bruyne, but he put it over the bar. Right on the half time whistle, Lukaku gave Belgium the lead by heading in a cross from Hazard. Six minutes into the second half, Marshall saved a De Bruyne free kick. Five minutes later a shot by De Bruyne was parried by Marshall, and Lukaku knocked in the rebound to make it 2-0. With six minutes remaining, Scotland should have scored, but McKenna, Forrest and Burke all missed chances. In injury time at the end De Bruyne got Belgium's third, by hitting a low shot from outside the box, into the bottom right hand corner.
