Russia 4-0 Scotland

Scotland travelled to Moscow knowing that a defeat would end their chances of automatic qualification for Euro 2020. The best chance in the first half was five minutes before the interval, when a shot by Golovin was saved by Marshall. 12 minutes into the second half, Russia took the lead when a corner was volleyed past Marshall by Dzyuba. Three minutes later, Ozdoev hit a powerful shot from outside the box that flew past Marshall to make it 2-0. A few minutes later, Dzyuba hit the bar. With 70 minutes on the clock, Dzyuba made it 3-0. The ball fell to him in the box, and he prodded it past Marshall, even when he had three defenders on him. With six minutes remaining, Golovin made it 4-0. He played a one-two in the box, before hitting a low shot past Marshall into the bottom left hand corner, to end Scotland's chances of automatic qualification. Scotland now had to rely on the play-offs via the Nations League.
