Faroe Islands 2-1 Moldova

Following the Moldova match, Ryan Fraser, Kenny McLean and Nathan Patterson withdrew from the squad due to injury. John McGinn's brother Paul was called up to the squad.

Scotland made a positive start, as a Dykes header was saved after only 8 minutes. Just before the half hour mark, Che Adams was pulled down in the box. After consulting VAR, the referee pointed to the spot. Up stepped Dykes, and he hit a poor penalty straight down the middle. Luckily for him it went under the keeper and into the net, giving Scotland a 1-0 lead. Ten minutes into the second half Hanley pulled down Hinteregger in the box. A VAR check deemed that it happened before the ball was in play, and Scotland were lucky not to concede a penalty. Midway through the second half, O`Donnell was played through on goal, but his low shot was saved. With 12 minutes remaining Gordon pulled off a point blank save from a Baumgartner header. Scotland played out the match for a famous victory, which put Scotland in second place in the group, and left Austria with an uphill task.
