Following the Gibraltar match, Tommy Conway and Lewis Morgan were called up as Ben Doak dropped out. There were also rumours that Craig Cordon and John Souttar would be the ones not to make the final 26 man squad.

Scotland were the better team in the first half, but failed to make any impact on the Finnish goal, whereas the Finns had a few breakaway chances, none of which troubled Gunn. Scotland played much better in the second half, with Gilmour forcing a save early on. Nine minutes into the second half Scotland took the lead. Robertson combined with Tierney down the left, before playing in a low cross that was deflected into his own net by Hoskonen. That lifted the Scotland spirits, and only a few minutes later Scotland went 2-0 up. Ralston collected a long ball by Christie on the right. His cross was headed out to Robertson on the left, and he crossed to the back post for Shankland to head past the keeper, and get his third Scotland goal. Scotland looked much more confident on the ball now, and Christie had a header saved. The match took a big turn with 20 minutes remaining when alot of substitutions were made, including Craig Gordon for Angus Gunn. Gordon's first task was to make a save at the near post, and then a minute later Finland pulled one back when an unmarked Källman headed past Gordon. With seven minutes remaining, Gordon conceded a penalty. He came out to punch the ball away, but his follow-through made contact with Galvez. It was a harsh decision that in other games would not have been given. Up stepped Antman to send Gordon the wrong way and make it 2-2. It the last minute substitute Conway had a great header saved from a Taylor cross, to prevent a fairytale finish. It put a bit of a dampener on Scotland's send-off but it was a better performance to prepare the Scots for Germany.
