England 2-1 Slovakia
Scotland 2-0 Malta
Slovenia 4-0 Lithuania

Scotland almost took the lead after 5 minutes when a Stuart Armstrong shot went just past the post.  Two minutes later a McArthur shot was blocked, followed a minute later by a Forrest shot being palmed past the post.  From the resulting corner by Griffiths, Berra scored a downward header at the back post to give Scotland the lead after only 9 minutes.  Five minutes later, an Armstrong shot hit the side netting, and a minute before half time, a Phillips shot from outside the box was saved.   At the start of the second hallf, Scotland got a second.  Robertson played a low cross into the box that was met by Morrison.  His shot hit the post and Griffiths tapped the rebound in.  There was a hint of offside, but replays showed that the ball took a deflection of the defender before it hit the post.  Five minutes later, James Forrest had a low shot tipped past the post.  With 15 minutes remaining, Malta came close when Gordon saved a shot by Zerafa, and the rebound shot by Effiong was blocked at point blank range by Hanley.  With a minute remaining, Phillips was put through on goal, but his shot went over the bar.  So Scotland had to settle for a 2-0 win which was good enough.
