Georgia 1-0 Scotland
Germany 3-1 Poland
Gibraltar 0-4 Republic of Ireland

In the first game of the season, Scotland travel to Georgia, which was where a 2-0 defeat in 2007 seriously damaged the Euro 2008 campaign.  Scotland's first real chance came midway through the first half, when Robertson whipped a low ball into the box that Steven Fletcher just missed.  Nine minutes before half-time, Georgia took the lead when Qazaishvili collected a knock down on the edge of the box, before hitting a low shot past Marshall.  Ten minutes into the second half, Maloney played the ball through to Steven Fletcher who hit the post, but the linesman's flag was up for offside.  Midway through the second half, Georgia almost got a second, when Ananidze forced a great save from Marshall.  With 10 minutes remaining, a Maloney free-kick was steered over the bar by the defender.  In injury time at the end, Scotland had their best chance of the match when a Mulgrew corner was headed just past the post by Grant Hanley.  The game finished 1-0 in what was a poor performance, and seriously damaged Scotland's qualification hopes.
