Scotland 6-0 Faroe Islands
Georgia 0-3 France
Italy 1-1 Lithuania

Before the game started there was some controversy about the location. On the same day as the Faroe Islands match, there was a Robbie Williams concert arranged for Hampden. For this reason the Scotland match would be played at Parkhead. Scotland made a bright start to the game when Fletcher put Scotland 1-0 up after only six minutes. Miller made a run down the right and put a low cross into the box for Fletcher to meet at the back post and knock over the line. Four minutes later Scotland's lead was doubled when McFadden latched on to a loose ball at the edge of the penalty area and hit a low shot into the bottom corner of the net. After 24 minutes, Boyd was tripped in the box, and the resulting penalty by Boyd creeps in under the keeper. Six minutes later Fletcher was also fouled, and this penalty by Miller was also a weak one that squeezed in under the keeper. Seven minutes before half time Boyd latched on to a great pass by Fletcher in the box. Boyd's first shot was saved by the keeper, but he knocked the rebound into an empty net to make it 5-0. In the second half, Scotland took their foot off the gas. They had a couple of chances from McFadden that were saved, and Mikkelsen in goal also prevented Boyd from getting his hat-trick when he saved a header. With five minutes remaining substitute Gary O'Connor completed the scoring, when he slotted home a low ball from McFadden in the penalty area to make it 6-0 and record Scotland's highest win since 1976.
