Ian McColl (1960-1965)

Ian McColl
Born:
7 June 1927, Alexandria
Died:
25 October 2008
Appointed:
November 1960
Sacked:
May 1965
Ian McColl, who was still a Rangers player when he was appointed, got off to a terrible start as manager with a 9-3 defeat to England. Although he had three famous victories against England and a good record as Scotland manager, he was mysteriously sacked in 1965 only a week and a half before a World Cup Qualifier.
